Xerxes

Xerxes is a system (written in PHP 5 and XSLT) that provides an improved interface to Metalib. It utilizes Metalib's knowledgebase and search capabilities via the Metalib X-Server, but provides its own interface and saved-record functionality in order to give you complete control over how your metasearch system looks and behaves.

The goal of the Chameleon plugin is to provide a more detailed look-up of holdings information in your library catalog (supports Innovative and Voyager) in order to determine whether you have a particular article in print. It goes beyond the basic Z39.50 look-up module in SFX. It is an SFX module (written in Perl) that you can install on your SFX server.

SFX Dissertation Plugin

The goal of this module is to accurately identify requests for dissertations. Many databases erroneously report dissertations as being articles in the OpenURL, and many students don't realize that they are requesting a dissertation. In this example, we've set-up a dissertation target to use the plugin, and tied it to a specially phrased dissertation interlibrary loan target.
