PsycINFO is an index with abstracts to worldwide journal articles, English-language book chapters and entire books in psychology and related fields. Indexes more than 9,900 journals on psychology and related fields. Includes over 1.5 million records. This is considered to be THE premier scholarly index to the literature of psychology.
ERIC (Educational Resources Information Center): SEARCH for information on any aspect of education including pre-school, K-12, post-secondary. FIND abstracts for journal articles, conference papers, teacher developed materials and more. Some full-text. an EBSCO database.
SocINDEX with full text offers coverage from all sub-disciplines of sociology, including abortion, anthropology, criminology, criminal justice, cultural sociology, demography, economic development, ethnic & racial studies, gender studies, marriage & family, politics, religion, rural sociology, social psychology, social structure, social work, sociological theory, sociology of education, substance abuse, urban studies, violence, welfare, and many others.SocINDEX contains full text for 235 "core" coverage journals dating back to 1895, and 72 "priority" coverage journals. This database also includes full text for 545 books and monographs, and full text for 6,601 conference papers.
PsycArticles, published by the American Psychological Association (APA), is a source of full-text, peer-reviewed scholarly and scientific articles in psychology. The database contains more than 100,000 articles from 59 journals - 48 published by the APA and 11 from allied organizations.
Academic Search Premier provides full text for over 4,650 periodicals covering the social sciences, humanities, general science, multi-cultural studies, education, etc.
PubMed was developed by the National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI). It was developed in conjunction with publishers of biomedical literature as a search tool for accessing literature citations and linking to full-text journals at web sites of participating publishers.
A full text database of unique and diverse publications that focus on how gender impacts a broad spectrum of subject areas. With its archival material, dating back to 1970 in some cases, GenderWatch is a repository of an important historical perspective on the evolution of the women's movement and the changes in gender roles. ScienceDirect is an information source for scientific, technical, and medical research. It is searched using the Scirus search engine. Scirus is one of the most comprehensive science-specific search engine available on the Internet. Driven by the latest search engine technology, it enables scientists, students and anyone searching for scientific information to chart and pinpoint data, locate university sites and find reports and articles quickly and easily. It was launched by Elsevier Science, an international publisher of scientific information.
Wiley InterScience provides online access to nearly all of the 400 scientific, technical, medical and professional journals published by John Wiley & Sons.
Biological Abstracts provides a comprehensive coverage of worldwide journal literature in the life sciences. This datafile contains references to journal items focusing on vital biological and medical research findings, clinical studies and discoveries of new organisms. Nearly 6,000 international journals are monitored for inclusion, representing virtually every life science discipline, including agriculture, biochemistry, biotechnology, ecology, immunology, microbiology, neuroscience, pharmacology, public health, and toxicology.
